Virtual Reality has been with us – at least as an idea – for many
decades. Now the technology has come of age. So far the most obvious
beneficiaries are gamers, for whom VR headsets can hugely enhance the
gaming experience. But there is much more to VR than that. Facebook is
investing heavily, seeing VR as a communication tool which can create a
sense of proximity far beyond what you might feel speaking to someone
over video. There is also evidence that VR could change not just how we
go about our day-to-day lives – but also how we think. How will virtual
