beanbag: (also beanbag chair) a soft seat consisting of a large cloth bag filled with dried beans or something similar.


 

cubicle: /ˈkjuːbɪkl/ a small part of a room that is separated from the rest of the room.

E.g.

a shower cubicle  

office workers in their cubicles 


 


liaise /liˈeɪz/ 

liaise (with somebody)  to work closely with somebody and exchange information with them.      

E.g.

He had to liaise directly with the police while writing the report.     

The tax office liaises closely with our department on such matters.


scoff /skɒf/ to talk about somebody/something in a way that makes it clear that you think they are stupid or silly. Synonym: mock. Sp.  burlarse, mofarse.     

E.g.

Don't scoff—she's absolutely right.     

scoff at somebody/something 

He scoffed at our amateurish attempts.      

‘Don't be ridiculous,’ she scoffed.


thinly disguised/veiled if something is thinly disguised etc, someone is pretending it is something else, but you can easily see what it really is. Poorly hidden.

E.g.

He looked at Frank’s new car with thinly veiled envy.

I was aware of her thinly disguised hostility.

 

blistering  /ˈblɪstərɪŋ/   [usually before noun]      ​(describing actions in sport) done very fast or with great energy.

E.g.

The runners set off at a blistering pace.

 

unfettered adjective   /ʌnˈfetəd/  ​not limited in any way. Sp. sin restricciones, sin trabas

E.g.

an unfettered free market        

unfettered by regulations.

 

ambient:

relating to the surrounding area; on all sides.

E.g.
ambient temperature/light/conditions.
