In this episode the Mythbusters explain the most common confusion doubters have about the US flags planted on the moon. "How can they appear to flutter in the wind when there is not atmosphere on the moon?" I think this video clearly shows the effect a vacuum has on flag movement. Imagine how much more a flag would move in the moon's low gravity!
